MEDJUGORJE

The CMOP has been present since July 1990, in the well-known Bosnian town of Medjugorje. The first years were marked by extreme precariousness, until the construction of the new residence, inaugurated in 2008.

Recently, by a Decree dated February 24th, 2020, the Apostolic Visitor for the Parish of St. James in Medjugorje Msgr. H. Hoser granted our Ecclesial Family official permission to reside in the territory of the parish, and to carry out our usual apostolic activities there, in accordance with our Rule of Life.

​

On the same day, with a second Decree, the Bishop gave permission for the church and private chapel to be used for Eucharistic adoration.

The community in Medjugorje is very active in the hospitality and care of the pilgrims, and the CMOP community while ensuring a contemplative life.

The church and the outdoor environment are ideal for personal recollection and continue to attract many visitors who remain for long times in prayer.

If it is not possible for groups to celebrate Holy Mass in the parish, they can request to celebrate it in the external chapel of the community.

PERPETUAL ADORATION

From morning to evening. Anyone wishing to worship during the night shifts from 9pm to 5am must contact the community personally.

"Remembering that the Oasis of Peace lives in the heart of every consecrated person, we are called to live, always and in all circumstances, in the spirit and style of our life, and to be always and everywhere peacemakers in the world" (RdV 124).

Wherever a member of the CMOP lives or works, there the Community is. Aggregated spouses and consecrated seculars are an integral part of our Ecclesial Family and work, in their respective ecclesial realities, in communion with the local Bishop and the Holy Father. In this way we are present in other regions of Italy, Brazil and other countries scattered throughout the world.
