The 4th youth retreat this year took place immediately after the Solemnity of Pentecost. And this lively Spirit could be felt very well among the participants. The main attitude that colored these days was TRUST and RELIANCE. Like the other times, we didn't all speak the same language but this didn't create divisions or anything like that, on the contrary, everyone tried to overcome this barrier. The theme of the retreat was "when it burns" ! ... connecting to the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT!
Before leaving, the boys wrote words of thanks for us. The words of a 28-year-old German girl put together a bit of what others have also expressed.
Let's give the kids the floor through what they have left us written:
"Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord!
He was sooooooooo nice with you!
Prayer, sharing, reflection, singing, silence, smiling together, hugs, food, etc... I was able to experience among you such deep faith, joy and love, together with so much love from God. You bear witness to the Love of Christ and manage to put together the different talents that each of you has (cooking, gardening, music, catechesis, sacramental life...) just as the body of Christ has many members with many talents... A Thank you very much and God reward you for everything!
I am already happy to be your guest again ... and I can't wait to see you all again!
I entrust myself to your prayers and also my parish in Munich where I work as a musician.
