The 21st Youth Festival, held in the city of Quixadá, at the Santuário Rainha do Sertão, from April 16 to 18, was truly a moment of grace and spiritual renewal for young people. With the theme “You are in the world, but you are not of the world,” the event invited participants to reflect on their Christian identity in the face of the challenges of contemporary society. During the three days, hundreds of young people experienced intense moments of spirituality, formation, and fraternity. The program included the celebration of Holy Mass, the center of Christian life, which nourished the faith of those present. The conferences offered deep and timely reflections, helping young people better understand their mission in the world. The theatrical performance moved the audience, conveying Christian values in a creative and engaging way. The moments of praise inspired and involved the young people, creating an atmosphere of joy and communion.
Meditation on the Word of God was an invitation to inner silence and attentive listening to the voice of the Lord. However, the most awaited and meaningful moment of the festival was Eucharistic Adoration. During this time, many young people experienced a personal encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist, in an atmosphere of deep intimacy and prayer.
There, hearts were touched, lives transformed, and important decisions were made.
The silence before the Blessed Sacrament revealed the living presence of Christ among his people. The festival showed that it is possible to live in the world without losing the essence of the Gospel. The young people were encouraged to be light and authentic witnesses of the faith.
The experience lived at the Sanctuary will certainly leave lasting fruits in the life of each participant. More than an event, the festival was a true encounter with God.
An opportunity to begin again, for conversion, and for spiritual strengthening.
May the young people carry into their own realities all that they experienced in these days.
And may they continue steadfast, being in the world living signs of God's love.
